I'm sure there are several ways to install, but for what it's worth I chose to slip the switch behind the left foot trim kick panel and ran the cord underneath the rocker trim panel.For those times, you'd have to unplug it, enabling the AFM system that has sat dormant for who-knows-how-long. You'd also have to wait for all the readiness monitors to set after unplugging it, which requires considerable drive time. Then they can choose not to warranty your engine if you have an issue. Some dealers will void your warranty others will ignore that you tuned it and just fix it. Not worth the risk in my opinion, especially if you have a 5.3l with Afm that have known issues. I would tune just after my warranty ended.
